I’ve been holding onto this Big Sur engagement shoot for over a year now. Every time I went to blog it, I was overwhelmed. I didn’t know where to start. I loved it too much and didn’t want to half ass it. But Ian and Natalie are finally getting married tomorrow, so it seems like it’s time.
Ian is one of my oldest friends, and favorite people. I don’t get to see him as much as I’d like, but to know that he has found his person, makes my heart so, so happy. Natalie is honestly one of the sweetest and most genuinely caring people I’ve ever met. I was instantly obsessed with her. When they asked if I’d meet them in Big Sur to take their engagement photos I was thrilled. Some of my favorite people, in one of my favorite places on earth.
We were all expecting some beautiful weather, but in true Big Sur fashion, the fog rolled in and it was freezing. These two were both troopers anyway. Hiking into difficult spots I had scouted and letting me keep them out until sunset, despite the goosebumps. I’ve been looking forward to their wedding in New York for over a year now and cannot believe it is finally here. I’m already so excited to share it with you. For now I’ll leave you with foggy Northern California, while I pretend it isn’t 100 degrees and humid here on the east coast.
Oh my gosh, these are so so sweet! They feel so fun and relaxed. I love shooting at Big Sur! It’s such an epic spot. Amazing photos.
Wow Kate!! These shots are absolutely gorgeous! I love how simple they are but also so intricate at the same time. How lucky this couple is to have these photos forever!
Dang I need to get myself out to Big Sur! This engagement is so sweet, I love how candid the images feel.
