Last Fall I met Marlee and Brandon in the Columbia Gorge for an early morning engagement shoot. Our first choice spot was rainy and cold and crowded, but I had solid intel that if we drove east a bit further it cleared up. Luckily they trusted me to a different location and it totally paid off. They had champagne for breakfast, and we got all varieties of weather. Clouds and sunshine and a perfect amount of moody mist.

Marlee and Brandon are basically the cutest humans together and were so easy going and fun. I feel like we captured the wide range of their personalities, especially at the end when the goofy really shined through! Engagement sessions in the Gorge are always beautiful because there is so much variety to work with. This is one of my favorite spots in the gorge because most tourists don’t know about it and you can still have a little space to yourself on a weekend. Also, can we talk about how perfectly their outfits went with the scenery? When choosing photos for your own engagement session, try to pick colors and textures that feel at home in the environment you’re shooting in. Neutrals forever, in my opinion! Neutral tones always look good outside and never distract from the scenery and the two of you!

Trying not to wish away the Spring and Summer, but I’m so excited for their wedding this September at Beacon Hill Winery!
