Kate & Sean: Married // Webb Barn, CT // Oct 2014
A few things that can’t be beat: Autumns in New England, High school sweetheart success stories, barn dance parties, and shooting weddings for people you grew up with. This weekend trip back to Connecticut included all of those things, and couldn’t have been more perfect.
Kate and I went to High school together and were on the track team for a few long seasons together, so when she asked me to shoot her wedding I was so excited. When I realized she was marrying her longtime (since high school) boyfriend, I was even more excited. I am bias here, but there is something so special about spending 10 years loving someone, growing up both together and separately, and still saying, yes, of course I want to spend the next 60 with you. Then she told me it was in October in CT and that was the topper on the cake. Like I said, nothing beats Autumn in New England.
The few days leading up to the wedding were rainy and gross, but somehow the wedding day pulled through as the most beautiful, sunny, and warm Fall day. And the Webb Barn in Wethersfield made for a magical setting. It’s always strange trying to put names to faces of people who are now adults whom you haven’t seen since they were 16, but that makes it even more fun. So did an open DJ booth, sentimental speeches, beautiful fall decor, crazy photo booth and grounds covered in golden leaves.
