Below are a few examples of real elopements, for real couples, not styled shoots. Click on the names to see more photos! Whoever you decide to hire to capture your elopement, make sure they have real experience. This is always important, but especially with an elopement because there won't be a hundred guests with camera phones as back up!
I had an intimate wedding myself, so I know there is still a lot that goes into planning one. Your photographer should be able to help you with a timeline, tell you locations they are familiar with, help pick a date based on the popularity of a place and recommend times for the ceremony and portraits based on lighting. They should also be able to recommend other vendors who they trust to execute your elopement perfectly. These are just a few small galleries from past elopements. If you'd like to see some full galleries, I'm happy to send them your way!

Mallory and Andrew contacted me in the very early stages of planning their elopement. They knew three things: it would just be the two of them, they wanted to elope somewhere near Portland, and they wanted EPIC views. They're big adventurers with great style and are super laid back and hilarious to be around. I instantly felt akin to them. I suggested Mt Saint Helens because of the killer views and their timeframe matched up perfectly for peak wildflower season! And gosh I'm glad I did. It was also important to them to capture more of their Portland adventure since they were making a weekend out of it. I love when couples think past just the ceremony and choose to document their entire wedding day. Also, any excuse for Pips donuts and a tandem bike ride! Thanks to For The Love of Floral for being a psychic with the most perfect florals ever and Officiant Jimmie for adding so much flare and personality to their ceremony!

Stacy and Daniel flew up from Austin to elope in a intimate ceremony with their immediate family on the Oregon Coast. They chose Cannon Beach for the views that were easy to access and the town that had lots to offer for a weekend getaway. They chose to host the ceremony on the lawn at The Stephanie Inn so their son and parents wouldn't have to hike. The Inn also offers wonderful elopement packages, so after the ceremony they had a beautiful room with a view to enjoy cake and champagne in. We snuck away for sunset portraits at one of my favorite spots, Hug Point. Stacy really wanted extra time for photos, and some sweeping views, but didn't want to leave family hanging out too long without them. So I also met back up with them to morning after for a little hike in session near Ecola Park. It was the best of both worlds and such a sweet celebration!

Faith and Blake are so easy and fun to be around. I shot their engagement photos at the coast a couple years ago and was so excited when they asked me to capture their afternoon at the courthouse. They had been planning a big wedding that just wasn't them, so when they found out they were having a baby they took the opportunity to adjust priorities and get married right away. They opted to say I do in the park across the street from the county courthouse. Such a great option to have the ease of a courthouse wedding, but the greenery of a city park! They pulled flowers from their garden and invited two friends and their fur babies. Their ceremony was short but super emotional, as in they were both crying instantly. We then wandered around downtown for a little bit taking some portraits before they met back up with their friends to celebrate at a local restaurant. I think there can be so much love behind the decision to go the courthouse route for your wedding, and these two are proof!

Holly and Eric had a beautiful micro wedding on the Oregon coast near Pacific City. They rented a gorgeous house tucked into the dunes with huge picture windows and invited their closest friends and family. I arrived early to help them find a perfect spot for the ceremony and to capture Holly getting ready with her mom (elopements totally deserve getting ready photos to). After a first look and portraits they invited guests to stand in a circle for the ceremony with pups running around free. It was simple and sweet and the location and light couldn't have been better. We also drove down the beach a bit after the ceremony for some more portraits and a minute to themselves before dinner commenced in the house. The sun was warm for a Spring day and the sea mist was perfectly cool. Holly and Eric were super laid back and the day went flawlessly.
